No Complaints; Everything It Should Be
Oliver Twist –
Compact, easy to shoot, easy to clean, cycles well with a variety of ammunition types; no complaints. If I could only have one multipurpose shotgun, this would be it.
Nelson –
If I would wear it out, I would buy another just like it

At this price I couldn’t pass up the novelty of a12 GA bull pup. It is a fun gun for plinking around and easily fits in the truck for self defense. The compact size is also great for home defense as well. I have an extra 10 Rd magazine that functions well. Every once in a while it can jam. Realize you have a blunt ended, soft plastic cartridge that needs to feed into the chamber. I had better luck with higher velocity ammo as well.

Shoots great right out of the box. No issues at all. Can’t beat the price, thought it was going to be a piece of junk, man, was I wrong. My friends like it also and are buying one to.

Works fine with low base shells. The ejector on mine is tight and some brands of shells would intermittently have trouble sliding up into the battery position. This was true with all of my magazines. I used some older high base shells and found this problem. My low base Winchester shells worked flawlessly. I put a Firefield Impact Mini Reflex Red Dot Sight on it and removed the stock sights. Not a trap gun, but for skeet it handles quickly and annihilates clay birds!

I got my Tokarev TBP12 about 10 days ago, and finally got a chance to get to the range today. I was optimistic about how it would work, but was still having some doubts being that it’s an inexpensive (does that mean cheap?) shotgun. Whatever, here are my thoughts. It was fun to shoot. Yes, there was a hefty recoil (it’s a 12-gauge shotgun after all), but really quite manageable. I’ve got a Mosin Nagant model 1944 carbine (7.62 X 54) that I think has more kick. I shot 4 rounds of Sellier & Bellot #1 Buckshot and 10 rounds of Winchester Super-X 00 Buckshot. Each shot and ejected just fine, and the bolt locked back after the last round. So far, so good. I’m 6’1″ and have arms long enough to match my height, and the TBP12 fits fine. The ergonomics are good, and it balances well. I would say it’s a good fit for me. I can’t say for sure how well it patterns at home defense range, because I unfortunately had to shoot it at 50 yards. I need to get back and shoot it at 10 to 15 yards, which would be the absolute longest in my condo. Actually 7 – 10 yards would be closer. I’m inclined to think I may be putting some Magpul MBUS sights on it in the future. I’ve read some comments regarding the lack of a cheek weld and a forend grip. I did put a Magpul AFG forend grip on mine, and think it’s a good addition. I would recommend it. I’m undecided about a cheek weld, although I may order one, and if I decide I don’t need it, I’ll write it off as a learning experience. Here’s the one negative I’ve got with this bullpup. The magazine. Actually, there’s two negatives with the mag. One, it doesn’t drop out when you press the mag release. You have to pull it out. Now, that may change with use, but for right now… Also, you have to be careful putting the mag in. You can actually push it too far, then have to pull it back down. I hope I never have to use this in a defensive situation, but if I do, unless the issues resolve with use, I hope I can maintain enough calm to get through it.
