New For 2024: Ruger Mark IV 75th Anniversary Pistol
Ruger is celebrating a big anniversary in 2024, having been in business for 75 years. The company got its start with what’s known as the “Standard Model,” a semi-automatic .22-cal. handgun that’s been a staple in the company’s lineup ever since the beginning. For its anniversary, Ruger is offering a special, limited-edition version of its iconic .22.
Over 75 years, though, Ruger has made some notable, and welcome, changes to the design. Today, the company is building the Mark IV iteration of the pistol, and that’s the model upon which the 75th Anniversary pistol is based. The Mark IV has a push-button takedown system that makes it easy to disassemble the gun for cleaning and other maintenance. Despite this novel design, though, the anniversary model is styled just like Ruger’s earliest guns.
