New For 2024: CVA SR-80
CVA, a name synonymous with muzzleloaders, has expanded its Cascade line of breechloading bolt-action repeaters to include the SR-80 scout rifle. The new model features a generous section of Picatinny rail mounted atop its 18” barrel, which is threaded 5/8”x24 TPI at the muzzle and fitted with a radial brake. The rail’s position forward of the receiver accommodates the mounting of intermediate-eye-relief scopes or red-dot optics, and a backup sight system includes a Williams rear aperture and a front post with built-in elevation adjustments.
The Cascade action’s shape and footprint are similar to those of the classic Remington 700, but it features a three-lug bolt with a sliding-plate extractor. The resultant 70-degree throw, combined with the bolt handle’s oversize knob, aids rapid manipulation of the action while allowing the shooter to keep the rifle on the shoulder and on target. Additional features include a detachable box magazine and a stock spacer system to establish the proper length of pull.
The SR-80 will be initially chambered in .308 Win. with a 1:10” twist and 350 Legend with a 1:16” twist. Its barreled action is finished in Graphite Black Cerakote and set in a synthetic stock finished in Flat Dark Earth and Black and featuring an extra QD stud on the fore-end for the mounting of a bipod
